Recovery and social inclusion
Together with young people
Making a difference
Rethink is committed to increasing the support we offer to young people. We believe in early intervention and want to be there for young people when they need us. But we also want to be there to talk to young people about mental illness to prevent another generation of social exclusion.
Making it happen
- Funded by the Big Lottery Fund, our Recovery Learning Sites project, will establish a series of initiatives for young people aged 14-25 who are experiencing mental illness, at risk of experiencing, or caring for someone with a mental illness.
- We went to large community events including the V-Festival with the purpose of engaging with young people about severe mental illness.
- We created a youth work group to share and develop good practice across the organisation.
Making an impact
- The Recovery Learning Sites project will reach approximately 3,000 young people by delivering a range of programmes and activities that will enable young people to take control of their own recovery.
- Our internal operations audit showed that an increasing number of younger people attended our services last year, so developing new services is vital.
Moving forward
- We’ll deliver seven interventions for young people in Southampton, Dorset and East Midlands.
- We’ll continue to look for new ways to approach young people, get them involved with Rethink and empower them to make real changes.
Moving you forward
