Shaping access to support
Making a difference
We really care about the people who support us and want to make sure they have easy access to the wide range of resources that Rethink provides. We want everyone who contacts Rethink to feel welcome and we want to make it as simple as possible for people to get what they need.
Making it happen
- The Mental Health Shop was launched jointly by Rethink and Mental Health Media. The website allows supporters to access, download and buy mental health information and resources including publications, booklets, videos and DVDs. We also have resources for service users and their carers, health professionals and educational establishments and organisations.
- We’ve continued to develop the Rethink website and to engage users online by introducing the Rethink blogs area.
- Our new Supporter Relations and Database Department (SRDD) is our first point of contact team who answer calls from our 0845 456 0455 number, and offers supporters crucial links across the organisation.
Making an impact
- More than 60,000 people visited www.mentalhealthshop.org and over 13,000 downloaded factsheets or reports.
- The new Welcome Team has enabled us to deal with a wider range of enquiries on the spot to provide more effective customer care.
- Calls to the 0845 456 0455 number totaled 24,890 last year.
- The information on Rethink services provided per call is now tailored to the caller’s individual requirements.
Moving forward
- From April 08 the Mental Health Shop will be owned solely by Rethink. We’ll expand the range and depth of mental health resources by updating and creating new Rethink publications and promotional items, collaboration with other charities, and sourcing as many related third party products as possible.
- The Welcome Team will continue to strive to provide a customer focused, understanding, and professional service which fully reflects Rethink’s beliefs and values.
